It’s time for one of the decisive blows against the aggressor, — Kira Rudik on the confiscation of frozen russian assets

It is important that the bill on the confiscation of frozen russian assets, similar to the one which is currently being adopted in the US, is also backed by other partner states. These are the decisive actions that the aggressor is so afraid of, and the punishment that the kremlin will really feel. Ukrainian MP, «Golos» party leader, ALDE Vice President Kira Rudik emphasized this in her opinion for the Atlantic Council.

«What hurts the regime in russia the most is not that more weapons will appear in Ukraine, but that russians will lose their financial resources. That's where we have to hit because they don't understand otherwise. That is why the confiscation of russian assets must be completed. The next step regarding the frozen money of the russian federation will be the promotion of draft laws similar to the American one, in the EU, and the G7 countries. It is important that the relevant document be adopted by Japan, where $58 billion of russian assets are frozen», — the MP explains. According to Kira Rudik, Ukraine and the West have already done a lot on the track of confiscation of russian assets and this process must be completed. «We hope that the US decision on russian assets will provide the impetus that others have been waiting for. The aggressor understands actions and determination, hesitation only fuels him. The partners and Ukraine have already come a long way to deprive the aggressor of the means to wage war against democracy and its values, now is the time to deliver one of the decisive blows», — the politician underlines.
