Kira Rudik participated in debates at the Cambridge Union

Ukrainian Member of Parliament Kira Rudik participated in debates at the Cambridge Union, one of the world’s most prestigious debating societies, speaking on behalf of Ukraine during the motion: “This House Believes NATO is Unfit for the World Today.” During the discussion, Rudik emphasized the importance of keeping Ukraine at the center of international conversations at a time when global attention is increasingly shifting between multiple crises. “For Ukrainians, debates about NATO are not theoretical discussions. They are about security, survival, and the future of the democratic world order,” Rudik noted during the event. She also stressed that opportunities to speak about Ukraine in places where future leaders, policymakers, and thinkers gather are critically important for maintaining international awareness and support. The debate included a wide-ranging discussion on NATO, European security, the future of the war, and the challenges facing the democratic world. Rudik thanked the Cambridge audience for the thoughtful questions, engaging discussion, and warm reception. “Ukraine must remain part of these conversations — not as a distant headline, but as a country defending the values upon which the democratic world was built,” she said.
