Real confiscation of russian assets will help our partners to increase aid to Ukraine, — Kira Rudik
An effective answer to the question of where to get resources to help Ukraine is the frozen assets of the russian federation. These funds are already in the hands of our European partners, and only a political decision is needed for their transfer. This was insisted upon by Ukrainian MP and «Golos» party leader Kira Rudik. «This is quite realistic. In 2022, many people said that such confiscation of funds was impossible. Still, in 2024, the Big Seven decided to transfer interest and income from these immobilized assets to Ukraine. It should be understood that if the entire body of frozen russian assets was transferred to Ukraine, we would have a different situation not only with reconstruction but also with the possibility of purchasing weapons», — notes the leader of «Golos». That is why Europe should continue to focus on frozen russian assets confiscation and look for mechanisms to implement this. «Every time someone says that there is no money to support Ukraine, our answer should be that about 300 billion euros of russian funds are stored in Europe, including the Central Bank of the russian federation. And there is simply a lack of political will to confiscate them. Every time someone says that there is a lack of funding, we have to answer that russia has to pay, there is access to its money, and we must dare to take it», — the politician emphasizes.
