The West must decide what it is capable of to protect freedom, — Kira Rudik
Statements and potential steps of the newly elected US president are stirring up Europe and North America. Because the collective West must reconsider its approach to the defense of democracy against tyranny and choose to fight rather than just improve the welfare of its constituents. Ukrainian MP, «Golos» party leader Kira Rudik believes so. «\We must ask the Western world what they are willing to do to preserve their freedom. If this is a war, then the only answer is to arm the democracy that fights back against tyranny. However, if the free world only wants to improve the lives of its citizens and tolerate the abuse of democratic values everywhere except Europe and North America, then there are different actions to take. Now we see that the world is moving the second way\», — states the MP. The democratic world must not be afraid to fight back against tyrannies, which, despite their apparent strength, are actually extremely weak. «There is great hope that Donald Trump and his harsh statements will shake our partners and the American and European politicians a little. And the unwritten rules under which Ukraine received aid for the past three years will be revised for the better. \Especially since the events in Syria have shown how fragile authoritarian regimes really are, no matter how strong they try to appear. If they are opposed not with «concerns», letters, negotiations, or statements, but with weapons, then they can be defeated. It can also be the same with russia, we just need to give Ukraine the opportunity to pressure the russian federation\», — emphasizes the leader of «Golos».
