Only in a democratic country a woman can choose and follow her own path, either in politics or in business, — Kira Rudik at the Reykjavík Global Forum
Women's leadership can be fully developed in democracies, even in times of war. Ukrainian women are excellent proof of this because every day they not only overcome challenges related to russian aggression but also ensure the development of their communities, businesses, and the state. This was emphasized by Ukrainian MP, «Golos» party leader Kira Rudik speaking at the Reykjavík Global Forum. «Only in a democratic country a woman can choose and follow her own path — either in politics or business. I am proud that many of my colleagues at local levels take responsibility and are not afraid of difficulties. I am once again convinced that Ukrainian women are incredible women who are capable of changing themselves, their country, and even the whole world», — the leader of «Golos» emphasized. In her speech, Kira Rudik talked about the programs for women's businesses in Ukraine and the fact that the government is working to develop women entrepreneurs' momentum and provide financial support. The Reykjavík Global Forum is an annual event for women politicians, activists, and entrepreneurs in Iceland and is a great platform to once again remind the world about the war in Ukraine. «We keep the focus on Ukraine on all possible platforms. Reykjavík Global Forum is also important for us because it allows us to work not only with our long-standing partners but also with representatives of the Global South. From communication with them, I can say that even though Ukraine is not so actively represented in their information field, they are interested in how we, Ukrainian women, overcome the challenges of a full-scale war, what decisions we make, and what helps us», — the MP summed up.
