The confiscation of russian assets will strengthen the position of Europe, — Kira Rudik

The subjectivity of Europe, against the background of the instability of the new US administration, will increase the use of frozen assets of the russian federation. Ukrainian MP, «Golos» party leader Kira Rudik insists on this.  «While instability in the Oval Office creates a lot of tension for various international partners, Europe is beginning to find the strength to move from words to action. We are grateful to our allies that they are formulating a clear and comprehensive plan to help Ukraine, and we hope that within the framework of this plan, partial financing will be carried out at the expense of the frozen assets of the russian federation», — the politician emphasizes. Since the largest number of russian assets are blocked in the EU, it is important to make decisions before these funds are used as an element of negotiations with the kremlin.  «The confiscation of russian assets is the logical next step for Europe gaining agency. This will not provide opportunities to return these funds or use them as a bargaining chip in negotiations. Moreover, it will strengthen the position of the EU that this money will be used exclusively by Europe to help Ukraine», — the leader of «Golos» emphasizes.
