The spotlight on Ukraine, confiscation of russian assets, long-term support and female leadership, — Kira Rudik on the results of work in 2023
We have been working with our partners to keep the focus on Ukraine, pushing the track of the confiscation of russian assets, urging long-term support for our country and collaborating with sister parties to promote women's leadership. Ukrainian MP, leader of the «Golos» party, and ALDE Vice President Kira Rudik spoke about the main areas of activity in 2023 and outlined the goals for 2024. In 2023, as an MP, ALDE Vice President Kira Rudik worked in about 25 countries. This included speeches at conferences of liberal democrats in Scotland, Belgium, Sweden, Romania, and other countries. There was also a meeting with the Prime Minister of Belgium, Alexander De Croo, and intensive work with 12 sister parties. «The russian assets confiscation track is progressing. This year, I worked in 13 countries to get the ball rolling. The biggest progress is in Canada — together with 50 Ukrainian MPs we appealed to the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to support Ratna Omidvar’s bill at the final stage. We are planning to do more and be more active next year as we aim to provide support to the G7 in the first quarter of 2024», — the leader of «Golos» reported. Equally important to Kira Rudik is the issue of female political leadership — there were events and speeches in France, Croatia, the Netherlands, Iceland, and Rwanda, and work with partners for humanitarian needs of Ukraine. «I would like to separately mention the support of Taiwan and 50 special purpose vehicles that were sent to help Ukrainian cities. We feel the support of our Taiwanese colleagues every day. At home, in Ukraine, we keep in constant contact with regional representatives of «Golos» party and implement joint projects for Ukrainian communities», — Kira Rudik summed up. However, considering the upcoming elections and internal political processes in the partner countries, Ukraine needs to contribute maximum efforts on staying on the agenda. «Our task, both in 2023 and 2024, is to keep Ukraine in the spotlight of partners, despite the election processes. Of course, this also includes increasing aid, both armed and financial, confiscating russian assets in favor of Ukraine and joining the EU and NATO. 2024 will not be easy for us or our partners. But everyone's efforts are important. This is what brings the victory closer!», — the MP emphasized.
