The world should see what Ukrainians are going through, how they are holding up, and what russia should pay for, — Kira Rudik at a meeting with MEP Karin Karlsbro
Ukraine's partners need to understand what russian aggression is, its consequences, and the fight against it, which is why trips to our country are important and should be constant. That's how Ukrainian MP and «Golos» party leader Kira Rudik commented on the visit to Kyiv of MEP Karin Karlsbro, who is responsible for the confiscation of frozen assets of the russian federation and is a speaker on Ukraine issues from the Renew group. «Karin Karlsbro saw with her own eyes both the horrors and destruction that russia brought us and our will for life. The latter impressed her the most because, despite everything, Ukrainians find the strength to live, volunteer, and support each other. The world should see what Ukrainians are going through, how they are holding up, and what russia has to pay for», — the leader of «Golos» reported. Also, Karin Karlsbro clarified what exactly the confiscated russian money should be used for and why not only the income but the body of the russian frozen assets should be transferred to Ukraine. «We talked about the fact that the transfer of income from the assets of the russian federation is good, but the body of these funds is a completely different dimension. And you have to work on it. From the first day of the full-scale invasion, Karin Karlsbro has been our ally and is glad that now we will be able to work not only at the party level but also at the legislative level and look for mechanisms to transfer russian assets to Ukraine», — the MP emphasized.
