Kira Rudik Discusses Strategic Partnership with Germany's New Ambassador Boris Ruge
Ukrainian MP and leader of the Holos party Kira Rudik met with Germany's new Ambassador to Ukraine, Boris Ruge, to discuss priorities for strengthening Ukrainian-German cooperation. The meeting focused on preparations for Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz's visit, expanding defense cooperation, and advancing the use of frozen russian assets to support Ukraine. Kira Rudik emphasized that Ukraine's relationships with international partners should be based on mutual benefit. While Ukraine continues to require military and financial assistance, it also has valuable technologies, expertise, and unique battlefield experience to offer its allies. A key topic was the potential for deeper defense and technological cooperation, including the possibility of granting Germany priority access to Ukrainian defense technologies and practical experience gained during the war. "Ukraine should not only be a partner Germany supports, but also a partner that makes Germany and Europe stronger. Our defense technologies and battlefield experience represent a real contribution to our shared European security," Kira Rudik stated. The discussion also addressed frozen russian assets and the need to develop effective legal mechanisms for their confiscation and use in financing Ukraine's defense and reconstruction. Both sides discussed opportunities for further political dialogue and concrete results that could strengthen the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Germany. Kira Rudik welcomed Ambassador Boris Ruge to Ukraine and expressed her commitment to continued cooperation.
