We are working for Luxembourg to decide on the transfer of interest from the frozen russian assets to Ukraine, — Kira Rudik
The example of Belgium regarding the transfer of interest on the frozen russian assets to Ukraine can be followed by Luxembourg. Currently, Ukrainian parliamentarians are working intensively with their Luxembourg colleagues. Ukrainian MP, «Golos» party leader, ALDE Vice President Kira Rudik announced this after the visit to our country of the MEP Monica Semedo and the head of the Luxembourg party «Fokus» Frank Engel. «Luxembourg has frozen $6,72 billion of russian assets, and we are working on their confiscation for the benefit of Ukraine. The first step is to spread Belgium's example of confiscating interest on these funds. On this path, every ally is significant, so work with parliamentarians is crucial and should be ongoing», — the «Golos» leader emphasized. Politicians from Luxembourg visited the Kyiv region and saw the destruction caused by russian aggression. «They saw with their own eyes in Bucha and Irpin what russia is capable of in terms of war crimes and how reconstruction is ongoing. And I hope they were convinced that the aggressor should also be punished with money», — the MP summed up.
